I Love You Because I Need You...

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff's School Papers Set over at MyGrafico - I told you I was going to be using this set in more than one upcoming project!!!  Yes...I'm double duty-ing it here but it was FUN!  I'm using her digi papers with some Chalk for a new CHALK Challenge called Chalk N Stock!  Meaning...use any chalk you have in stock!

ChalkNstock is still giving away a prize for every 25 followers!  Be sure to follow us HERE.
And check out Tammylee's post HERE for more info!

In this project I not only used Lindsay's awesome papers I used a Dragon Fly Rubber Stamp from Viva Las Vegas Stamps, a vellum sticker (not sure of brand), and various powder chalks and shimmer from Chalk-Ah-Lot.

Comic Book Page Templates Used in a Layout!

When I saw these Comic Book Page Templates that Lindsay's Stamp Stuff came out with - my mind was going a mile a minute!  Not really because I am into drawing Comic Books but because of everything else I thought I could do with them!  This is the first of many projects I will be doing with these baby's!  I LOVE THEM!
It's the very first page in my new Smash Book!  I literally printed one of the pages out and cut designer paper pieces to fit the columns.  I pasted them in and colored the white frame around the columns/page.  I added an artsy photo I took from an alley-way a few years back and found a Picasso Quote online and altered it in Picasa.  It's simple and FUN!  BUT...I have TONS more projects coming soon - using these - in different ways!  I'm blown away with this set!  36 unique layouts for only $3!!!!!  WOW!!!

Out Of This World

This week we are featuring a set by Kelly Medina
Outer Space Boys
Here is my card...but I am thinking about ripping off the top and doing a comic book type project instead!  I guess you could call this a mixed media project!  I used the cute alien from the set but then I used a mixture of chalk and distress inks on colored paper and then I tore them by hand and glue them down.  I was going for the retro-aged look but also comic book colors of rust and earthy tones.  I found the OUT OF THIS WORLD 'bit' online and altered it and colored.  I added Elmer's Paint Glue for the eyes.

This was a fun yet different project :)

Hero Card

I did this HERO Card the other day!  It features one of the papers from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff's School Papers Set over at MyGrafico.  I 'aged' the paper with various powdered chalks and inks.  A few years ago (WOW!  Has it really been that long???) Lindsay and I swapped some random crafting supplies and she sent me some of these neat flowers so I used my last one!  Remember that, Lindsay???

I really LOVE this set of papers and am so glad I flashback in my stash to use them again!  I have a few more projects on tap with them, too!

ChalkNStock Project - BEEs

Well HELLO there!  In attempt to simplify my life and relieve stress I am going to start doing more projects JUST FOR FUN!  This is one of them!

I used Close To My Heart Acrylic Stamps here!  I used Embossing Ink with stamps and brushed over it while wet with the darkest Powdered Chalk available over at Chalk-Ah-Lot.  I also used some shimmer of theirs around the pinkish edges.

ChalkNstock is still giving away a prize for every 25 followers!  Be sure to follow us HERE.
And check out Tammylee's post HERE for more info!

Jars on a Card?

This is a fun digi stamp set that I will be using often!  I added some powdered chalk to water and sprayed over top of the image for a little texture, shine, and aged look and then added buttons!

Stipple Part B

It's the 2nd week or PART B as I like to call it to this round of a challenge over at ...
I used a stipple brush to coat the punched image under the flower with various powdered chalks mixed with paint...white acrylic, actually.

I also used a sentiment stamp in the upper left hand corner!

Stipple It - Just a Little Bit...

This week at Chalk-Ah-Lot we were to use the awesome powdered chalk with a stipple brush somehow.  Well, since I had been making my own designer papers with the chalk I had one that I did with watered down chalk and water and applied to glossy photo paper and used a stipple brush sponge combo to combine colors and textures as you can see above!  I LOVE making my own papers with this powdered chalk - the possibilities are truly endless!

Chalk Two Ways - Part B

It's Sunday and that means it's time for my DT Project for the Chalk-Ah-Lot Team!  Here it is!  This week we used the amazing powdered chalk TWO WAYS in ONE Project!

I bought some new stencils and mixed the lime powdered chalk in with white acrylic paint - I really LOVE this because now...all I really have to do is stock up on white paint and I can make my OWN paint colors with the chalk!  Woot!

I then distressed a little bit by using Tattered Angels and pressing another paper up against it and dried.

I also used one of my own designer papers using the chalk with water, drying, and applying more chalk/water combo to give it a marble effect.

I also used two stamps from Stamp N Plus Scrap N

Thinking of You - Final Blog Hop Day!

It's the last day of this blog hop!  There is still time to participate!  HOW did I use the chalk - you ask?  Chalk is used as the background for the stamped unicorn mixed with Alcohol Inks. Also used with water to color hair.  THEN...I used with Prisma Color Craft Markers, Water, Powder Chalk mix ON vellum paper/wrap - dried.  Once dried I used Jewel-It to glue on top of a stamped image :thinking of you: and cut and glued again.

Day TWO Blog Hop for Chalk

Mixed Powdered Chalk with clear liquid glue and applied with a bingo dabber type sponge to "paint" on photo paper for texture.  Also used emboss pigment ink to stamp image and used red and lime powder chalk for rose stamp color...finished off with some shimmer

I have been making my own designer papers with this powdered chalk and a mixture of various mediums to create one-of-a-kind looks and you can, too!  My fave paper to use - so far - for my base is glossy photo paper scraps or imperfects - aged, discolored, scratched, etc - ones you wouldn't print on but can still use!

Just A Note - It's BLOG HOP TIME - at Chalk-Ah-Lot!

I am in the process of learning a new technique using paper scraps (torn) as a template - ink inbetween them - blend - and stamp!  More on this in the next coming days/weeks!  Here I used Alcohol Inks/Blending Solution, Hairspray, Powdered Chalks, Shimmer, plus a little blown air for natural bubbles.  The photo doesn't do it much justice with the colors in real life tho.  The sky is a bluer color and the bottom sand colors!

This week was all about Bows and Buttons!  Well, I did Ribbon instead of Bows and a Button!  And some BLING!  I altered this digi stamp in the new features offering in Picasa - I'm LOVING the new options...printed...colored...assembled :)

7 - Use Chalk 2 different ways!

This week over at the Chalk-Ah-Lot DT we were to use our awesome powdered chalk two different ways!  Here is what I did...I used it with hairspray and sprayed it on paper to create my own designer paper.  I used one of the Stamp N Plus Scrap N Rubber Stamps over top - the castle - and then I also used the powdered chalk to emboss the JUST BECAUSE Sentiment Stamp in the corner.  I'm REALLY enjoying making my own designer papers with these awesome powdered chalks!  I have some I have been doing with photo paper, too, and will show you that after I get back from vacation!  CHEERS!

I've been boppin' with the bunnies lately!  Here's another one!  This time it's from this set and it's the set that the MyG DT used this week!  I altered it in the new Picasa to make it a Digi Stamp and colored!  I'm LOVING this option!!!  I added ribbon and buttons and a rubber stamp - stamped 3 times :)

Let's see what you have going this week!

6B - Anything Goes - with powdered chalk!

This week I did a TAG for the Chalk-Ah-Lot DT.  I used one of the background stamps from Stamp N Plus Scrap N and stamped several times.  I then used another rubber stamp of theirs for the BIG CAT and created a paint mixture with hairspray and a little gesso.  For the wood I used Mocha Smooch.  I then covered with the shimmer and used one of their THANKS Stamps, too!

Anything Goes With Powdered Chalk

So here is MY project this week!
It's ANYTHING GOES with this awesome POWDERED CHALK!
I used powdered chalk with water to color the sky in the stamped image as well as parts of the castle.  I let dry and brushed Triple Thick over top of it to make it shiny.  I used a wet glitter marker and forced the liquid out and mixed with a metallic powdered chalk and painted the edges of stamped images as well as the outline of the layers AND the hand-drawn triangles.
