Viva Las Vegastamps Design Team Application

This is Part 2 of the application for the Viva Las Vegastamps Design Team! I seriously can't believe my term is almost up! It went way too fast! I'm trying to renew my status with this blog entry! If it's one Design Team I would LOVE to be on again...it's this one! VLVS is AWESOME! I love their selection - it's so unique and so diverse and the people are wonderful! Have you been to their shop lately? What about their blog? Please do...you won't regret it!

For my project I wanted to do something I usually don't do and thought about something simple and quick! A POST CARD! Above is the front...I took designer paper and added a few things including some 3D Stickers, extra ink, hand written journaling, and YES! A rubber stamp from VLVS! This cool cat is one of their many amazing Rubber Stamps! I did two tone lighter browns via craft markers.

On the back - I didn't get overly tricky or cute...I, again, hand wrote the back, and added some more 3D stickers. I also drew lines for the address and 'faked' a stamp in the upper right hand corner just for kicks.

I really do hope I make this DT again...I'm really addicted to their products...they had me at HELLO.

Wish me luck!

VLVS DT - Santa and the Mouse

Hello...Jennifer here, with TWO projects for you today! First...it's my first Christmas Card of the season...well, ALMOST Christmas Card. In this first project - shown above - you will see Santa snoozing under a cactus. He's NOT quite ready to make his list and check it twice! I wanted to see how many elements I could get into this one. I have metal embellies, velvet/sparkle ribbon, patterned paper, solid card stock, craft markers, metallic gel pens, ink, and a phrase sticker.

For my next project I decided to go 'dumpster diving'. Not literally. I used an old Library Book Card Holder for the back - made it into a funky envelop for any occasion. I also found an old starter tag that I have had in my stash for years. I added one of my Mousy VLVS to it and played around with my Ranger Inks. I added some swirl bling and sparkle flower and brad.

Enjoy your day!

GO FOR IT - VLVS DT Project

Here's my Viva Las Vegastamps! DT project for this week! I started off thinking I was going to try an ATC and wasn't really jazzed about it when I was done so I turned it into a card instead.

I have to say this was out of my comfort zone but I am happy I attempted it. Here is what I did...

I stamped one of the rubber stamps from

Paper Artsy Wings Plate 6

available at Viva Las Vegastamps on my surface.

I then colored it and added some Ranger Ink over top and faded a little then covered it with Gesso...and scraped so you could see the print below. I added scraps of various adhesive for the border of the image. The layer under that is a little hard to notice but it's textured paper that I added Smootch - Mocha to. For the next layer I used some orange paper from my stash and the layer under that - plain white paper. The main paper for the back is some designer paper I used - added some Sticko swirls and Darice gems. on the very top I had two really old adhesive circle stickers I put on opposite corners and on top of the upper left hand side a metal embellishment that says GO FOR IT. I thought it was really different for me so I thought the phrase was fitting not only for that but for a neat "aged" Encouragement Card or something. Sure, it's a little funky, but I thought it was fun to make.

VLVS DT - Halloween & Wine - And Everything's Fine?

At my poor attempt at a title let alone a rhyme...here is my post for this week! I like to call it "Halloween & Wine: But Not At The Same Time"

I ended up not knowing what to do for this week's post at the beginning and ended up with two completely different projects in the end.

For my first project above I took the back of a cork board coaster and added one of the VLVS to it. I used various inks, craft markers, blending tools, glitter pens, etc for coloring. I had some 'gel' embellishments that fit in the corners nicely and then added a border to each side as it looked a tad bare without it.

I used THIS STAMP from VLVS over at stampo.com

For my next trick...I mean project...I just did an ATC. I guess I could say this is my very first Halloween Project of the year!

You can find THIS STAMP HERE. I used paper from my stash, gel pens, blending pens, and other craft markers for my coloring. I used the same border as in the first project but I think it looks very different. I also used black ink around the edges of the white paper where I stamped the image.

Butterfly Tag - VLVS DT

I'm the first to admit that my tag making needs a little work but I couldn't resist at least TRYING with this little Butterfly Stamp from VLVS and stampo.com. After inking it up and stamping I colored it with different colors if Stickles. I added a little more bling in the form of gems. I had some Butterfly "create" header stickers that I cut and repositioned and also had a butterfly border that I came across lately. I used some of my designer paper left from my stash, too, as I am trying to use more and more of that up. I had a little bit of fiber ribbon I used here as well.

Another thing I LOVE about VLVS Stamps is the variety. I'm not really a butterfly collector, per say, but there are things that I do collect such as unicorns. But I will tell you what...VLVS has just about anything you want or need if you collect something.

Don't forget to swing by stampo.com today! Thanks for visiting my blog!

Have you visited the VLVS Shop lately?

It's where I got this rubber stamp I used in this project here for the Blog Hop! It's a pretty massive rubber stamp and came as a set. I got them unmounted so my dollar stretches even further! A wonderful option at VLVS!

I have all this Heart and Love and Valentine's Type Paper to use and it's just been sitting there so I thought it was ideal to use this Rubber Stamp! I must say - this is the largest Rubber Stamp I have worked with so far! I used various craft markers and glitter pens to color this along with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. AND...I had to bling it up a bit! I have a feeling I am going to use this stamp often!

Thanks for stopping by today during the VLVS Blog Hop! Remember to leave a comment for me AND follow me AND do both of those things for each DT Member in order to qualify for the Blog Hop Candy!

Bling! Believe! Imagine! VLVS DT!

I have had this Fairy Paper for a while now and thought that the 1 3/4 X 2' Fairy On Mushroom Stamp from Viva Las Vegastamps! would work with it nicely. You can view that individual stamp HERE. I decided to use a combo of craft markers and pens including gel pens, CM Markers, and a few ZigZag/Bargain Bin ones. This paper is textured and has some sparkle to it but I wanted to add some more BLING to it too! I used Sticko Gems. The punch I used was Fiskars. Ever since I have been ordering from VLVS - I have been ordering the UNmounted stamps...because you can really stretch your dollar(s) much more by doing this! The more rubber stamps the merrier! They take up less room in my stamp drawers, too! More stamps...more storage space left over! LOVE IT!

The 29th!!
What's so important about the 29? VLVS is having a blog hop! You won't want to miss it and if you leave comments on each one of the DT Members blogs, you'll be entered to win some of your very own VLVS stamps!

Live Laugh Love Card

This week for the Viva Las Vegastamps DT I did another card - but I will say this - I have been seeing a common denominator here lately with my card layouts unless I'm following a sketch. So today I really went way out in left field with this crazy card chaos!

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I LOVE ASIAN THEMED CRAFTY PRODUCTS!!! So when I saw the Live Laugh Love 1 1/4 X 2 rubber stamp that VLVS had I HAD to get it!

For the layout here I took patterned paper with Asian Symbols for my bottom layer. I then took an Asian Floral Printed Paper for my next layer and did a quick and easy mosaic with the cuts I made. After that I used my large punch with some adhesive paper and slapped it on for the next layer. I stamped (more on this in the next paragraph) the rubber stamp on some card stock and laid it down next. After that I added stickles around the edge and 3 large 3-D stickers on top along with some gems. I know it's a little busy but "mission accomplished" for me thinking outside of my comfort zone on the layout of the card!

Now...a side note about the stamped image...

I actually used a clear ink pigment pad to stamp the image and sprinkled some "pearls" powder over top and took a soft print brush to it to gently brush away the loose powder. It worked like a charm! The powder stuck quite nicely to the pigment!

So there you have it...a crazy card from me this week! emember to shop at Stampo.com! Until next time!

Friends, Flowers, and FUN!

I'm so happy the weather is FINALLY getting warmer! I thought yellow and orange were perfect timing and so was this Sunflower with Ladybug Rubber Stamp from Viva Las Vegastamps!

I really wanted to keep it simple this week with a quick and easy card. I really like this stamp because it has it's own built-in boarder! I used Prismacolor Colored Pencils and cut around the edges and stuck it to some card stock. I also found some vellum phrases and 'there ya go' - a quick and easy card!

I found this to be one of those PERFECT Rubber Stamps to work with...you, see, for years I was intimidated by many rubber stamps because I didn't always get a nice, even ink on it but this worked really well and it's a smaller stamp but big enough to shade and blend a little too!

I hope you will swing by the blog for Viva Las Vegastamps! And don't forget the shop, too!

Tip Toe Thru The Tulips - VLVS DT

DON'T FORGET TO VISIT THE VIVA LAS VEGASTAMPS! BLOG - CLICK HERE!

It's good to be back posting for the VLVS DT! I have several things to touch on today! First...what do you think of my card above?

I was thinking SPRING but wanted something more than just spring...I thought this was kind of cute...I was diggin' the yellows and oranges! The ducky has so much personality! He can be found HERE over at the online store. The stamp is called Sneakered Duck and it's a 2X4.

There is still time to check out the BLOG CANDY we have going on over at Viva Las Vegastamps!

Read about the VLVS Blog Candy HERE. BUT HURRY!!!!! We NEED 125 followers by April 30th!

I must remind you about one of the BEST products Viva Las Vegastamps has right now! It's taking the crafting world by storm!

It's called Miracle Tape and I know I mentioned this 2 weeks ago both HERE and ON MY BLOG but I cannot say enough good things about this product! My most favorite part is that it is so durable and PERFECT for those heavy-duty projects! I LOVE using it on ribbon and heavier cards with many layers of paper and embellies!

A few more things about this project...I wanted to make mention that the textured yellow paper that is just underneath the digi stamp clip is actually the backing of a random embellishment pack. I have been reusing those as often as possible. I LOVE that most of the companies are making the backing of the packaging interesting, patterned, and/or textured now! I used Crayola paint pens and markers, zig zags, Martha Stewart flower stickers, Bazzill Paper/Cardstock, DCWV Paper, Stickles, and Sticko Vellum Stickers.

AND...I am excited to report that I'm stoked about the upcoming projects and products for May! Be sure to swing by often!

Viva Las Vegastamps Projects, Posts, and Products!

HEY! Check it out it's my first featured project for the VLVS DT Blog!

I made a card using one of the stamps I received in their Pound O Rubber Pack I got this past month! I ended up getting some really FUNKY stuff in there BUT it's stuff you CAN'T get ANYWHERE else!!! Really unique, rare, and one-of-a-kind rubber stamps! VERY COOL and VERY FUN!

I ended up getting a few different faces in my pack and at first I wasn't sure what to do with some of them but once I stamped this image on test paper the ideas started flying!

I have to admit this is something NEW for me! On many levels! First I not only used several different mediums here including distress ink instead of regular ink and colored pencils, watercolor pencils, craft markers, and art chalks...I also smudged a few spots which I don't usually attempt because I haven't been good at it in the past but it seemed to work here. Another interesting thing about my project here is - the part that looks like a chin is actually how I cut the rubber stamp from the rest of the rubber stamps in my pack...it's not actually the chin! It was some stray ink from the left over rubber part of the stamp but I really liked the way it looked after I smudged it so I kept it that way! I'm very pleased with the way the eyes and lips turned out here! the blush is strictly art chalk...again something I have more recently started to tinker with.

Check out the Pound O Rubber HERE! You'll LOVE IT!!!

Be sure to check out the VLVS Blog, too! It's located HERE!

Many of the girls are going CRAZY over the Miracle Tape...and rightfully-so! I mean, check this out! MIRACLE TAPE!!!

It sticks to EVERYTHING! Foam, plastic, glass, metal, wood, paper...you name it! Since I used many layers with this card and used really heavy paper for most of the layers - in addition to it being thick - the Miracle Tape worked AWESOMELY!

I'm so excited to be a part of this team! And I have a new way of looking at Rubber Stamps thanks to this awesome company! Swing by their online shop or in person next time you are in Vegas! You won't be disappointed!

Viva Las Vegastamps DT TRY OUT

I am trying out for the Viva Las Vegastamps DT! Visit their blog HERE. And their website/shop HERE. I've said it before and I'll say it again...I LOVE VEGAS...so when I saw this company a while back I was instantly drawn in by it! Below are a few projects I am using as my TRY OUT along with the techniques I used!

I LOVE doing Recycled Projects whenever possible! I LOVE reusing 'stuff'. Here I used the bottom of a cereal box - covered it with paper - and used some foam stamps I had for the lettering in TREATS. The string is also being reused from something else as well as some of the paper. I have this Dog Treat Holder in my kitchen and my dogs know EXACTLY what it is!
Here is a Birthday Card I did using clear stamps. For the coloring I used water color pencils and 'dragged' the coloring from left to right. (Tomorrow's My Birthday, btw, and NO I didn't make this card for MYSELF...lol)

Today is the LAST DAY for this call! HURRY UP and get those applications in!
