You can never have enough SMILE Cards, ya know!? So...I did a smile card...and next...

I think this may be my favorite of the 3 - but then again - I'm partial to the colors and I LOVE WATERMELON!!!!

Shelly's Images - Handmade Flower & Birthday!

This week over at Shelly Image's DT we were to use this neat digi stamp for birthday related cards AND include a handmade flower embellishment. I decided to use one of the flowers I made from my tutorial a few weeks ago. I have been giving family members these lil flowers too! They are enjoying them! Some have even displayed them in wine glasses!

Remember to swing by Shelly's store and blog today for some good ideas and goodies!

2 more flowers

I really enjoy making these! I decided to do two more quick ones last night. The one above is with patterned cardstock that I used multiple inks on and stickles. The one below is two tones ink - Ranger Ink distressed ink and plain black over top and stickles on regular old copy paper.

Green Crafts DT - Hand-Made Flowers by reusing paper - Tutorial

Last night I started making Hand-Made Flowers...Carnations or Roses...depending on the way you look at it I suppose.

This is my first attempt so I will only get better, right? What I did is take my Scalped Punch from Martha Stewart and and punched out 8 from regular old copy paper! You can use any paper tho! I then went around the edges with with an ink pad. After that I sprayed with a little water...then scrunched or waded them up like a spit ball. After that - I carefully - loosened and flattened them out. I stacked one on the others until all 8 were in a stack. I then used my Crop-a-dile to punch a whole in the center of all 8. I put a brad in the hole. I then folded and pinched each corner and each layer towards the center where the brad was...I did that to all 8 layers. By this time - it looks like a rose bud with near everything in the center of it. I then took some Stickles and smeared it over top of the edges of the paper over the "inked" parts while still grouped in the center. After a few minutes of drying under a dryer or heat gun - altho still slightly wet - I carefully started separating and repositioning each layer...molding it like a flower, I guess you could say.

And there you have it! Again, this is only my first attempt. I think I will be addicted to making these so I will be posting more on my blog as that happens...HERE. Come and visit me!

Friends, Flowers, and FUN!

I'm so happy the weather is FINALLY getting warmer! I thought yellow and orange were perfect timing and so was this Sunflower with Ladybug Rubber Stamp from Viva Las Vegastamps!

I really wanted to keep it simple this week with a quick and easy card. I really like this stamp because it has it's own built-in boarder! I used Prismacolor Colored Pencils and cut around the edges and stuck it to some card stock. I also found some vellum phrases and 'there ya go' - a quick and easy card!

I found this to be one of those PERFECT Rubber Stamps to work with...you, see, for years I was intimidated by many rubber stamps because I didn't always get a nice, even ink on it but this worked really well and it's a smaller stamp but big enough to shade and blend a little too!

I hope you will swing by the blog for Viva Las Vegastamps! And don't forget the shop, too!

Flowers & Follies!

Well, here's the FLOWERS part of my post! As for the Follies part...I'm STILL having internet issues so I am typing this at a local coffee shop with WiFi. I really can't wait for MY internet to be back up and running...Oye!

Anyhow...here's my project for the Watering Flowers Theme for SoftPencil this week! As for my other projects - I will be hit and miss - I seemed to have already screwed 2 of them up. I tried to create them - take the pics - put them up on my computer desktop - and upload once I got to a place with WiFi but it's not as easy as it sounds! Especially when I can't create and then upload all at the same place! Sooooo frustrating! Anyhow...here's one post and I am scheduling a few other posts for this week a head of time.

OH!!!

Have you stopped by the Softpencil Studios or the Red Bubble Shop yet? Take a peek, and you are in for a treat! Elizabeth has images available on T-shirts, hoodies, kids' and baby clothes, Art prints, and stickers, in addition to digital images.
Need some inspiration? Stop by the blogs of our creative DT to see what they have made using this adorable image! Their links are in my sidebar.

Blue Crown Update

One of the first posts I wrote when I started blogging was about my Blue Crown Passion Flowers. I thought I would do an update on them! I'll tell you! I absolutely LOVE this plant! I've never been so attached to a plant before!!! Well, accept for "Glads" which will ALWAYS bring back memories of my Grandmother. Above is a picture I took last night of one of the Blooms. I still LOVE how complex this flower is! I take a stroll back to see them every day!
Here is a picture of 2 blooms side-by-side. The fun part with this flower is that some days there will be 1 or 2 blooms and others days there will be several. You never know when they will open and close! Yesterday - when I took these pictures - there were 7 blooms!
Here you can see just how much it has traveled in one season and it you look REALLY close you will be able to see the blooms and the side-by-side bloom in the upper left hand corner.

Pictures: Past and Future

Here is a picture I took last year. It's of a small stream on my husband's family's land. I am looking forward to taking more pictures soon...including some photographs of the plants and flowers we put in this year.

Today we went to a car show and I took a lot of pictures there too. I just have to upload them. I'm sure my cousin Paula would enjoy a few of them...especially the Mustangs!
