Paper Cupcakes - Make A Scene

Starting the week off with my Paper Cupcakes DT Project! This week we were to MAKE A SCENE. I used THIS STAMP from Paper Cupcakes to make a Wall Hanging Scene. A scene for or with friends - a scene for tea time - a scene in itself, perhaps!

I also reused a cracker box for this project, too, which I will be doing more and more in the near future!

Will you be making a scene this week? Tell me about it! And don't forget to participate over at the Paper Cupcakes Blog!

Green Crafts DT - Hand-Made Flowers by reusing paper - Tutorial

Last night I started making Hand-Made Flowers...Carnations or Roses...depending on the way you look at it I suppose.

This is my first attempt so I will only get better, right? What I did is take my Scalped Punch from Martha Stewart and and punched out 8 from regular old copy paper! You can use any paper tho! I then went around the edges with with an ink pad. After that I sprayed with a little water...then scrunched or waded them up like a spit ball. After that - I carefully - loosened and flattened them out. I stacked one on the others until all 8 were in a stack. I then used my Crop-a-dile to punch a whole in the center of all 8. I put a brad in the hole. I then folded and pinched each corner and each layer towards the center where the brad was...I did that to all 8 layers. By this time - it looks like a rose bud with near everything in the center of it. I then took some Stickles and smeared it over top of the edges of the paper over the "inked" parts while still grouped in the center. After a few minutes of drying under a dryer or heat gun - altho still slightly wet - I carefully started separating and repositioning each layer...molding it like a flower, I guess you could say.

And there you have it! Again, this is only my first attempt. I think I will be addicted to making these so I will be posting more on my blog as that happens...HERE. Come and visit me!

Stars and Wishes

Sky Collection from SoftPencil is BACK! This is Starry Nights! Click HERE to see the whole collection!

For this project I used an old CD - covered it with paper, metal stars, sticko alphas, and colored with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I haven't recycled/reused CDs for projects in a while so I thought now was time to resurrect the idea!

Just a reminder... this month is Softpencil Anniversary month, we are celebrating all month long... Softpencil will be hosting its own challenge on the 18th of May, the challenge will last for 2 weeks and the winner will get a $10 voucher to the shop. And while you wait... there is also a very cool tutorial by Cat at the Softpencil blog! Hop over and see!

I'm now on the SketchMania Design Team!!!

I'm now a part of the SketchMania Design Team over at UmWowStudio! I'm so excited!!! Here's the first sketch and my first project for the team...
I have to say I LOVE DeeDee's sketches! They are truly unique and very well done! Below is my take on the sketch this week. It's a Inspirational Wall Hanging. A great way to re0use those cardboard backings to 12X12 paper packs as well as reusing metal and/or plastic pants hangers!
Be a part of this challenge and let's see your take on this week's sketch!

I'm also entering this project into the following challenges this week:
I Did It Creations - Punches & Dies (cuts)
Scrapbook Sisters - Framed
Try It On Tuesday - Inspired By A Song (My Wish by Rascal Flatts - lyrics below)

My Wish lyrics
Songwriters: Steele, Jeffrey; Robson, Steve;

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow
And each road leads you where you want to go
And if you're faced with the choice and you have to choose
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you

And if one door opens to another door closed
I hope you keep on walkin' ?til you find the window
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile
But more than anything, more than anything

My wish for you
Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold

And while you're out there gettin' where you're gettin' to
I hope you know somebody loves you
And wants the same things too
Yeah, this is my wish

I hope you never look back but you never forget
All the ones who love you and the place you left
I hope you always forgive and you never regret
And you help somebody every chance you get

( From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/r/rascal-flatts-lyrics/my-wish-lyrics.html )
Oh, you'd find God's grace in every mistake
And always give more than you take
But more than anything, yeah more than anything

My wish for you
Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold

And while you're out there gettin' where you're gettin' to
I hope you know somebody loves you
And wants the same things too
Yeah, this is my wish, yeah yeah

My wish for you
Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold

And while you're out there gettin' where you're gettin' to
I hope you know somebody loves you
And wants the same things too
Yeah, this is my wish
(My wish for you)

This is my wish
(My wish for you)
I hope you know somebody loves you
(My wish for you)
May all your dreams stay big
(My wish for you)

Posh, Trendy, Recycle, Reuse!

Here is my project for this week for the LSS DT! I decided to use the Posh and Trendy set again today...I am totally off whack this week! I totally forgot it was Thursday! I had NO IDEA what to do for this week and I was going to do an ATC but then switched my mind to a tag...then to a card using what started out as a tag! LOL

What I did for this is reuse some old paper! It was actually reused from someone else! I received some embellies from another company to use for ReadySetCreate and the backing of their packaging was reused newspaper/old book paper so instead of throwing it away - eventho it was just a little piece - I reused it again! I then aged it even more with Tim Holtz Distress Ink! I thought it looked cool even tho I positioned it upsidedown! Oye!
HEY! Check this out...NOW is the time to BUY...

Don't forget to stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter for this weeks freebie and more inspiration.

And...check out my sidebar for the rest of the LSS DT links and projects!

I'm entering this project in the following challenges this week:
Aly's Sunday Challenge - Dude Card
The Corrosive Challenge Blog - Recycle/Reuse
Doodle Pantry - Love
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes (Optional Flowers)

LSS - Recycled Item & Challenge!

WOW! Last week was CRAZY! Lots of strange occurrences but those are hopefully in the past and I am ready and rearin' to go...errrr something...

Anyhow...I'm 3 days late posting my LSS DT Project but Lindsay and the rest of the girls were nice enough to let me join today's group of DT posters!

Lindsay, of Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, is running a challenge on the What's Digital Stamping yahoo group and asked the DT to join in. The challenge is to make a project using a digital image (stamp, coloring page or ding bat font) and at least one recycled item. All entries before January 7th will be entered in a drawing for a stamp of your choice from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff shop. If you are new to digital stamping and are looking for some free images, take a look at Lindsay's blog or on MyGrafico, there are plenty of freebies on both.

So...here are my projects for this...

This one is a Tea Bag Holder. I did have a picture of the inside but forgot to upload - sorry! The little pinkish-purple-red thing sticking out of it is a Yogi Tea Bag. You can purchase this set HERE. And it's available from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff on MyGrafico! The recycled item I used was the cream colored text/handwritten paper in the background. I reused the backing of a Scrapbooking embellishment package. Here is a look at the back of it while it's open. Since I drink a lot of tea and swap a lot of tea I will be making TONS of these! They are super easy to make and are very versatile!

Using the same template I found online but nothing recycled on it...I made this SEED HOLDER, too...it's made with an image from the same set from LSS!

Angel Wings

Here is an altered project I did for the current PAMC Challenge that I belong to as a DT Member. This was fun and brought back memories. This is my darling Snowflake - we got her when I was 3 and she lived to be 21...she passed away in 2001...I miss her everyday! I thought the WINGS theme was perfect for something like this and I was still in CD Alter Mode (see previous post) and thought I would alter another one. For more examples and more info on the challenge and how you can enter your project please take a look at this blog

Dog Treat Holder

Here is a picture of a Dog Treat Holder I made from parts of an old Cereal Box. For more altered Projects/Going Green - Recycling Projects scroll down to the next post! I want to thank Jennifer Blackwell for featuring this project in the latest Edition of ReadySetCreate!

Green Art

I've been attempting some altered projects lately and some of them I haven't been able to post because I was waiting for them to be featured in the newest edition of ReadySetCreate! Since the edition is now out I can post about them! YAY! This first one wasn't featured but the idea was...it's a Dog Treat Box made from parts of an old Cereal Box.
These Magazine Holders are also from old cereal boxes

And here is a Trash Bag Holder I made from an old Trash Bag Box.

I have another Dog Treat Holder to post soon!
